My girl was AI 17 days ago.  I put her on Synulox about 8 days ago after I noticed some creamy/pale greenish discharge at her valve (had this twice before when her mum was in pup and always used Synulox just to be on the safe side). Anyway within a day or two no more sign of it and 7 day course finished yesterday.  This morning on dabbing her back end as you do :-) there was a bit of sticky clear mucus with a brownish tint to it.  I know clear sticky is good, but light brownish?  I called the place she had the AI done and they said could be from implantation? 
Has anyone had experience of this and if so what was the outcome.

I had just one who, after a couple of good matings, went into a more blood-coloured discharge to the end of her season.   None of mine had done this before, mated or not - they just gradually had less and less discharge, which wasn't blood-coloured, until 21 + days when it was all over.   She had an uneventful pregnancy and 9 super puppies at the end of it.

If you are worried about your girl, have your vet take a look.    Any strange discharge early in a pregnancy would worry me.  

ps    We did have one AI'd over in Canada (actually in the States) after the stud dog would have nothing to do with her and having travelled from Toronto to just outside Philly, I didn't want to come home with 'nothing'.  Her pregnancy was uneventful too.   Some breeders back here want a bitch to be on Synulox just before being mated (and on through the course) but my vet always said why?   If she's healthy at the time of mating, she should be fine.  Some stud owners just prefer to have this done however, especially if they have a popular stud dog, I suppose.

I have spoke to my vet who also doesn't believe on giving antibiotics unless they actually need them.  As I told him she is well, no temp, normal drinking and not licking herself etc. If I had not dabbed her with kitchen towel I would never have known it was there as it is not on her fur (long coated breed with light coloured fluff round back end) and not visible by just looking at her rear.

At the moment I am not overly concerned with regards to her immediate health just really wondering if anyone has experienced this type of discharge in a mated bitch and if they knew what causes it? And what the outcome was? 

I don't feel this is due to infection as it appeared less than 12 hours after her last Synulox.

I had a bitch get pyometra just a fortnight after being mated this year. If yours have just finished Synulox I'd be concerned that any signs might have been suppressed, so personally I'd want a scan to play safe -that should tell the vet if there is a problem with the uterus. The discharge does not sound normal to me.

I did get her checked but as usual they make a liar out of you at vets!  Since the other morning not one bit of colour or discharge so I'm happy and relieved about that :)

We are now almost 3 weeks and showing NO signs of being in pup at all! 

I am sure her mum's nipples were pinked up and prominent by day 21 but cant be remember exactly .  Just wondered at what stage has others noticed a difference in their maiden bitches nipples? 

Well that's good. :) I definitely don't notice a nipple change at 3 weeks - I have a maiden bitch here who is 28 days today, I am fairly sure she is pregnant due to her behaviour (scan Friday) and her teats have not changed at all yet.

Its good to know your bitch didn't show signs, Its hard to remember.  I only breed every few years so forget exactly when each thing should happen. 
She is really giving nothing away.  She has been grooming her mum a few times(never done this before) and has took to laying outside on her mums spot (again not usual) but other than that nothing!  My girls do tend to go a bit picky with their food 2-3 weeks after seasons anyway so its hard to count things like that as positive signs.

What behaviour changes have you spotted in your girl Goldmali? 

Main thing is she is off her food good and proper, very hard to get her to eat anything at all, but also small things like being extra clingy, a bit short tempered with the other bitches etc.

Friday will be a big day then! I am actually having two scanned. For the first time ever I have mated two bitches at the same time -there wasn't much choice as this maiden one would be too old for a first litter if we waited and the other one would be too old for a last one -and they came into season together. But I don't think we'll end up with more than 4 to 5 pups AT MOST in TOTAL, so that's why I felt we could cope this once.

I will keep my fingers crossed for you. Friday is a long way off :-)

The biggest 'clue' I had with mine, early days, was the vulva didn't go back to 'normal'.  Some were quieter from the outset, others weren't.
