I've been going through some litters and it's become very apparent that this breeder is breeding from bitches who are a year old and then each year after that for 4 years on the trot.

To me even as a small breed it does seem rather young?

Just wondered what your take on it was as have only ever owned large breeds

I just checked and the national breed club's COE states not before 18 months or third season.

i bought a 9 month old ***** was told her first season had just finished..this was fine by me .anyway she started getting bigger and boobs started developing.presumed it was a phantom so let it run its course.in the end had her scanned and to my amazement she was carrying 4 pups.was about 45 days gone.well after phoning the lady up she said she  might of been had by a friends ***** when they were walking out together off lead and in season.well after giving her a bit of telling off.i had the 'pup' vet checked and all was well.she went on to have 4 healthy pups whelped herself in the night on about day 63.she was a great mum.but it was a very scarey time for me as i had never had this ever happen.she then resumed been a puppy after her pups had gone at 9 weeks.PHEWWW.

Puppy bitches and young girls are all capable of pregnancy and motherhood, but it isn't necessary or acceptable.

Wow. Well done you ! Couldn't imagine my 7.5 month old  shih tzu or me coping she seems so puppy like still. Really helpful to know though as I didnt think they seasoned that early.

i breed ******** but never on first season.think 15 months onwards is okay but not the age.she has since had her second season but will not be bred from for at least her 4th now.shes a little lady.what was amazing was how she grew up into a mum and then afterwards became a puppy again.

>i breed ********

You breed asterisks? :-)

If you're talking about a bitch you have in whelp you can't mention breed as it may be considered advertising, in a topic asking a question about a specific breed however it's useful to actually name the breed :-)
