Can anyone tell me, when looking through the adverts on champdogs, if the advert states a test is done, and yet it's not showing on the KC database, the admin will have checked out whether the test stated has been done by another laboratory ie scanned copies of results will have been sent?

Thanks in advance.

Yes I had to send mine in, scanned copies but sent them to the wrong email so still need to do it.

Thanks for that, it gets confusing when you read the advert and the health tests aren't on the KC database, have told the person asking me about the litter to ask for scanned copies in any case, but wondered what happened on champdogs with the adverts, whether it was added to the list of health tests or just allowed to be included in the text of the advert.

I don't think any reference to a health test is allowed, even in the text, unless it's showing on the KC database or Champdogs admin have received a scanned copy of the results.

Yes they do check with copies of the tests, I do health tests that are not listed for my breed by the KC so doesn't show on the KC website but I scanned in the lab results and sent to champdogs and so it shows on my champ dogs page.

All health tests that appear under the heading 'Health Tests' on a dogs page have been officially verified by Champdogs. As you may be aware the KC do not publish certain results for certain breeds and in cases like this, we are happy to allow breeders to add such results for their dogs but only when we have seen officially recognised certification for that particular condition/test.

If a breeder claims a dog has been tested in the general text that appears on the dogs page but it is not highlighted under the header 'Health Tests' then it means we have not seen any proof that the test has been carried out or what the result is.

If we spot text making claims of test results (that we have not verified), then we do email the breeder and request proof. That is assuming we spot the text! Breeders have the ability to upload health test results directly to their accounts now (rather than emailing them to us) by using the health option on the Members Menu. Copies of certificates can also be added to the same link. To make it as easy as possible for breeders, we are happy to accept clear, copies of (digital) photograph's of whole certificates if a breeder does not have access to a scanner. Breeders are required (by our rules) to add details of all the health tests that they have had carried out on any dog that appears on Champdogs.:)

I'm just going through putting an ad together and the stud dog we've used (a Polish dog with a KC Stud Book number) has no health tests showing on My KC or Mate Select, but in fact has been so rigorously tested it puts us to shame.

The kennel club does not include any health tests that are not our schemes of international ones like Optigen eye testing if it has been made an official scheme here.

I used a US dog, and previously a Finnish one.

With the first they told me they didn't want to see his hip eye etc certificates.

When I used the US dog I made sure that they would accept the Optigen eye test for him so that pups would have Hereditary clear status.

Only then did I get an email wanting details of his hip status! (as it was required for an ABS breeder).  As it was not mentioned on the Litter application I pointed them to the OFA website where they could confirm the details.

I do think they should record all health tests, simple enough to put Hips FCI A or OFA Excellent etc, or International eye cert, or CERF or whatever.
