I know at various times we have discussed this subject and how hard it is to get help . Thought it would be interesting for those of you who are affected like me with under active to learn what I have discovered by accident.
Recently changed my diet radically to lose weight. this has meant that have cut out dairy and all grains and most sugars except a small amount of fruit. Yes and  alcohol :(
result yes good weight loss BUT my thyroid meds have needed to be reduced from 325mcg per day to 150 ! on further reading and discussion I have leanrt that in some people it can be affected by calcium intake and gluten. Doctor is sure it is because both dairy and grain have now gone from my diet. Yes I still have calcium of course but in other foods  ie veg and fish and non dairy milks which gives me enough .
I am delighted it has only taken 10years to discover this lol

Very well done on the weight loss!

Calcium does interfere with absorption of the meds, that's why it should be taken 1hr before/3 hours after food.  Which personally I have yet to manage, because I'm a grazer!

Gluten is definitely an issue for a lot of sufferers too - and again not something I've managed to cut out :-P  I'm really not very good at helping myself lol!

Unfortunately I didn't know any of this until I cut it all out with this particular diet plan. yes I was a grazer too nikita but somehow after far too many years to mention I am now eating 3 meal a day nothing in between unless its the very odd treat and drinking water and fruit teas. Very strange for a caffeine addict and grazer

I am nothing but impressed!  I am trying once again to get into better habits, not least because I've now had it confirmed that I'm dealing with EDS on top of the thyroid and some deficiencies so really, if ever there was a time that I needed to get a grip on my eating, this is it.

I'll never manage fruit teas though, horrid things!  Kudos for that :-D

Can I just say...well done you....without sounding patronising.  As a diabetic, its hard for me to lose weight and know how difficult it is so keep up the good work and enjoy your new look. I wish I could get motivated enough to get more active!

Thank u Gsd owner. The exercise is difficult to motivate the diet is probably the easist I've done no counting only real food nothing processed very different but somehow it flicked the switch.before I get too smug I have more to go. I really know how hard it is too lose weight especially with some medical conditions.
