Many thanks in advance.

In my personal experience (after having taken in several re-homed cats that had ear mites, and also about ten years ago having got earmites in my own cats after I had an infected queen visit one of my studs) Canaural ear drops (from vet only) used every day, with the ear being cleaned first with baby oil -took about 6 weeks to clear. I know people often mention Thornit but for those cats it did nothing at all. I think sometimes people assume dogs have earmites when it is just yeast and then Thornit works.

I use Thornit on my dog and her ears are clean and sweet smelling. Google to find best price, I got mine from Amazon. If you want to read up about Thornit, there is a website.

BRILLIANT!

Can we get this from a pet shop?? Bless her she's been scratching and flapping her lovely ears and want to sort it ASAP.

Tend to agree with Goldmali are you sure it is ear mites or possibly an allergy. For the cost of a consultation at your vets it would at least make that clearer.

The thing is, earmites in dogs is really quite rare. It is far more commonly seen in cats. I remember when I told the owner of the queen who had infected my stud cat (who then infected one of my own queens, who then infected everyone else!) that her queen had earmites. She was surprised because "I have been treating her with Thornit for weeks already!"

The gunk in the ear needs to checked under a microscope to confirm ear mites.

Thornit also gets rid of canker I saved one of my 12yr collies I used to have from being put to sleep because whatever the vet used only worked while using it and she was so depressed. Someone told me about it so ordered some on line within 48 hours she was like a different dog and continued to use it once a month she lived until she was 16 without ever having anymore ears problems. Never found out what it really was but thornit cured it.
