Has anyone ever used this product for tear staining, it sounds very good reading the info, also where do you buy it from I've read a few reviews and some of it isn't the genuine article.

Thank you in advance

Barbara

I'm sure you can't have it in the uk now; it gets stopped at customs but I can't remember why. I think it's a type of antibiotic too so you might want to think before giving your dog it.

I ordered from the US quite a few years ago.  I would not recommend.

Having read your replies, don't think I would use it.

Thanks

The authourities in the US are threatening to ban this product because of its potential long term antibiotic misuse.

The active ingredient is tylosin, which is an antibiotic as has been pointed out. The EU powers that be generally take a dim view of antibiotics ladled into and onto animals long term without very good clinical reason. Short term, trimming the hair short and cleaning the eyes several times daily is probably the best option; long term, breeding dogs that don't have ridiculously tiny faces and therefore ultra narrow, easily blocked tear ducts.

I got some a year or two back and found it very good, however as others have said it's not good for long term, also it's so expensive! I did have a nice facial scrub I bought somewhere in the UK, but my friend forgot to give it back at the weekend after she'd been dogsitting so I can't tell you what it is until I see her again!!
