When getting a pup from an 'Assured Breeder' what documentation should you receive.

Registration Certificate from the Kennel Club.   Pedigree - usually either a 3 or 5-generation and usually prepared by the breeder.   Health Certificate from their vet although best practice should always be to take your new puppy to your own vet within 48 hours.  Diet sheet/small supply of the food the pup is being reared on now.   I give a list of Do's and Don'ts (stair climbing and furniture is a no-no for my breed as is excess exercising early days).   Sale Contract which both should have signed.   And the breeder should make you aware of any endorsements your puppy carries, at point of sale.   I think that's it??

Nothing different from any other good breeder re documentation, AB or not.

Tonnes.

The purple Wallet.

Registration Document
Contract of Sale
Explanation of Endorsements
New Owner Questionaire

Your expected to include at least advice on:
Breed Traits
(don't get this one as surely pick up time is hardly the point at which the owner should have this, it's what they should have had when researching the breed)

Socialisation and Future Training
Grooming
Feeding
Excersise

A record of:

Worming
Immunisation if Applicable

Also may include for example:

Copies of Health certificates
Copies of Microchip, Tattoo, DNA certificates
Contacts for Breed clubs
Pedigree Certificate (cannot imagine selling a puppy without one, but it's not required and many people only ever have the reg cert with parents names and no more.  Recently used MyKC to do the pedigree for a friends Labrador)

Hi Brainless is the new owner questionnaire forwarded to the KC.Almost a form of quality control.I presume that these packs are bought by the breeder to give to the purchaser.

It's the only form of Quality control, but of course new owners don't often return them if my won experience is anything to go by.  Out of 3 litters I think around half a dozen were returned, so 30%, which I suppose compared to most surveys is not bad.

It's likely to be the ones who aren't happy returning as I noticed those I gave most time and support to don't (had a pup back to look after with all the documents and the form still in wallet).

I resigned from the scheme when my membership came up for renewal end of May.

No you get them automatically when registering a litter if you are an AB.

Well the wallets and the form for the owners to return to the KC.

All the rest you will have to do for yourself, quite hard if your not into the IT age.
