My female shih tzu started bleeding 11 days ago and stopped 6 days ago ,I have been putting her with a male for the past 5 days and she has been flagging her tail and allowing him to sniff and lick her even trying to mount him.He has not tried to mount her so we tried with his father who had sired two litters but all he did was sniff and lick her ,she is still flagging her tail and allowing them to do this .Could it be that she is not giving out the right scent yet -i don't see how we could have missed with trying every day from day 6.

I don't see your argument, having had a bitch who ovulated on day 4.  The bitch flagging is not a reliable signal for you.  I have a bitch who flags from day 3 and doesn't care who or what it is.  She would flag to a camel given half a chance.

I am horrified that you have been "trying every day" that is so wrong.  Why aren't you progesterone testing?

Do you have a mentor?  (Usually your bitches breeder.)
