Topic Dog Boards / General / rehoming a bull dog
- By furriefriends Date 24.08.14 10:01 UTC
I have been told about a 5 year old bulldog that is going to be rehomed . Now I don't know this person its more a friend of a friend but have been told the current owner hasn't a clue about rehoming and is likely to advertise in all the wrong places which makes me shudder. Not my business  really I know but if anyone can offer any contacts in breed rescue that I could pass on at least the dog may have chance to find a good home. I hate the thought that someone should be doing this and making all the wrong moves for the dog. Dog is in south London

thank you

Have they contacted the breeder, if reputable they would wish to help re-home and certainly want to know where the dog goes.

I would suggest the breeder as the first point of call, but I can speak from experience & say that Bulldog rescue are very good (the link that setterlover gave is the main UK breed rescue), we've just adopted a bulldog through them and they are rigorous in their homing checks and I believe also have a network of foster homes if the dog cannot stay where it is until a permanent home is found.
