Little one's adult teeth are starting to come in and she doesn't know what to do with herself. I am giving her frozen flannels loads of different chews frozen carrots and frozen banana - oh and ice cubes. The positive is she loves having her teeth brushed now. The negative is her eyes are tearing something chronic and she is in obvious discomfort.

There was a recent thread on watery eyes so i have that on board but i wondered Can you use any teething gel on puppies?

I have to say I have never had a problem with teething, mine just drop them out and I find then all over the place. I have never had a dog in pain ...well not that I know...
Maybe its a breed thing and my big breed cope better.
No idea about the teething gell sorry

I am assuming she is in discomfort / pain as her chewing and mouthing takes on a frantic at times level. The ice cubes definitely seem to help as does massaging her gums and where they are cutting through the gums look very red. I think when they are tiny you don't notice her actions so much and i was new to it all. I just want to make sure i am giving her everything i can to ease any discomfort.

With my lot I rarely find any teeth, they just eat them ;)

Brainless I think that may have happened with hers - but i would imagine they are tiny compared to your breed.  I can see her Molars coming in but i may take her to the vet as they seem to be a bit more into the roof, only slightly - not sure if that is normal? it is identical on both sides.

Teething gels are a no-no as far as I'm aware,  they contain sugar substitute XYLITOL  which is poisonous to dogs :-(

Apparently Pets  at Home do a teething gel  for pups,  but with sorbic acid and citric acid in it,   I  wonder what it will do  to teeth?

My breed is a whole lot smaller than Barbara's but mine swallow them.  I have a lot of dogs and I could count teeth I've found over the years on one hand.

Get her checked by your vet - there is help for those who are really suffering through teething.   Not something I've ever had with mine either although my latest Basset was quite swollen (gums) above his canine teeth.

I will. I know they can have overcrowded mouths as they are small and flat faced so i think its prudent to make sure they are coming through in the right place as i wouldn't know.
