Is he an experienced stud?  Is she a maiden?  It isn't usual to put two inexperienced dogs together.

No I realise this she isn't maiden and seems to be flagging to him he just isn't interested as in won't even sniff her so impossible to collect from him

I'm afraid I know nothing about your breed specifically but I would be dubious about using AI anyway. For widening gene pools etc when the stud is in a different country then fine, but it seems a very bad idea to perpetuate the inability to reproduce naturally. (not that it would necessarily have an immediate affect on the puppies but long term it would decrease the viability of the breed :-( )
Also I don't think the KC will register from AI when the dog is in the country? (for those reasons)

That's exactly right.

Has this dog ever been scolded for humping when he was younger?

We took one of our bitches from Toronto down to just outside Philadelphia to a proven male I really wanted for her.   Long story, but she was bang on for breeding but try as we did, he simply wasn't interested.   To the point my English-bred bitch got so fed up with him (Yankie and over there -not necessarily so!!!) that she visibly sighed and sat down with her back to him.   We took them both to their vet the next day, she was indeed bang on - his sperm was fine so we did an AI (allowed over there but not in the UK although I suspect it happens!! unofficially) - at least getting something in there.   We tried for a natural mating later that day but he again wasn't interested so we came home next day.   She had two puppies, one DOA.   Hum.   A year later we went back because the surviving singleton puppy was so nice and that resulted in a decent mating and 5 puppies!!

Sometimes the moon isn't in the right place!!    If I were you, I'd advise your friend to find a decent proven stud dog, one that's right for her b itch (so rarely is the 'dog next door' right in any case), next time.

Frenchies are very much being exploited at the moment so do you need to be adding to the already ridiculous registrations.  Hope that both have been screened and are not of the non standard colours. Breeding should never be done just to sell puppies and I know a lot just do it for making a quick buck. As above choose a dog that best suits your bitch with good health results and wins in the ring to.prove his good quality. Not the closest mates rates.

Wondering if the dog in question is one being advertised at stud on a site where owners can advertise their stud dogs and if he is the one year old dog who commands £700 fee as he "will throw blue sable pups to blue bitches. theses are the pups that make blue tan pups when put to a blue tan o a blue tan carrier. That's why his fee is high."

Health testing quoted as "Scores: HD clear very healthy no breathing problems" with no mention of any other tests.

Of course it may just be a coincidence that the dog mentioned above has the same affix as the OPs user name.

DNA tested for HC-HSF4 but out of two Hungarian imports, and AI offered for difficult bitches -rather against KC rules that.....

I've always wondered how they would know - have heard of it being done but as dog is in the UK who can prove they haven't actually mated properly?

Again relying on (rare in some quarters) honesty

I think it's called ethics......do things the right way or not at all.

Only the dog isn't "HD free" as there is no  0:0=0 hip score on his KC record & no blue offspring either. Isn't Blue a KC not recognized colour ?

Yes, you're right.
