For anyone considering having the  Lateral Imbrication op on their dog take a look at this link of my dogs. The little brown Patt had this op 20 months ago and you would never know. I would never hesitate as it has given her new life.

My staff had it done around 6 years ago.  She's now 11 and still like a pup.  She favours the other back leg slightly but its not obvious and I can only tell as her nails seem to grow a bit longer on the leg she had the op on. I would recommend the op too.
