Topic Dog Boards / Breeding / That common topic -current timings for BVA hip scores?

Does anyone know how often the panel sits at the moment for hip scoring? Has anyone had hips done recently and how long was the wait?

Molly had hers sent off on 14th May and they were scored on 12th June, if that's any help.

I tend to phone them to ask, Marianne - I'm so impatient! They have always been very helpful and will give me the date they're due to be done.

My last one was done this May....results back in three weeks. Up until this time it's always been six weeks for us,

Many years ago, I got my results back in 6 days - couldn't believe it when the vet called to say results were back!

They are sitting at least twice a month. Mine were done on 2nd of June and were scored on Thursday 26th.  I called the BVA and they said at the moment they are aiming for a 3 week turnaround from when the x-rays arrive with them.  I know they also sat the following Friday which was the 4th June.

Thank you, that's good news.

The main reason for delay is backlogs, even though they sit twice a month or so they can only do so many at a time.

3 week turnaround, I received results this morning :)

Oh good! Am very nervous because the vet nurse said one hip might not have been good.
