Off to the vets in the morning to get both dogs a passport for our holiday to Ireland.  Not cheap!! at £94 per dog but heyho! Is there any advise about this it all seems a bit of a mine field?? Hope all goes smoothly

If you're just going to Ireland do you need the rabies jab or just a passport proving ownership?

If it's the full passport then check that it is filled out correctly, I was recently stuck at Calais as my vet hadn't signed over the official stamp when he got his rabies jag, I'd already crossed over to Netherlands and back with this dog too, apparently some staff are more efficient than others :-)

They now have to have the full thing including the Rabies and 21 day wait as for the rest of EU.

Hey ho indeed! My vet wanted £114 (their discounted price apparently)--I shopped around and have now moved to a fantastic vet. He charged me £43 per dog.

Ok so it was cheaper than quoted. Ended up paying £110 for two dogs. :-)
