Hi all,

We imported 2 malinois from Belgium earlier this year, obviously their microchips were registered to the previous owner. I have contacted the company that registered the chips but its taken ages to get any response from them, the latest being that they will mark the dogs as exported. I have asked how I get the registered address changed to ours but I imagine it will be another couple of weeks before I get any response. Does anyone know how you go about doing this? The company the chips are registered with is ABIEC/BVIRH

Try contacting Petlog as they will register most chips except those like Petrac who won't let them.

They will send you a import form & it will cost you £15 each

When I brought my Spanish chipped pets back to England I just contacted Petlog.  They took all the necessary details over the phone and I paid by card over the phone.  It wasn´t long before I was able to look them up on the Petlog website to check all the details.  I was surprised how easy and painless the whole thing was. 

It has to be done in writing now

When I KC registered my Mali import from Belgium in March, they added his microchip details to PetLog at the same time. There's an option for it on the form you fill in to register an import.

That is because the KC own Petlog, if the dog isn't registered & brought in as an imported KC dog you have to apply in writing via the Petlog imported chip form that Petlog will send out to you if you contact them through their site

Both dogs wont be registered with the KC as there is no need to, I will contact Petlog on Monday though to get them added to their database. Thank you
