So, I've entered the GC stakes (thought I had entered the breed class until I just looked at my pass) at Windsor and it will be my first GC class.
I know you are meant to bring your certificate/photocopy.
Just wondered if anyone had ever been asked to show the proof of it?

No. Never seen or heard of anyone being asked either.

Seems a bit odd to ask for proof not done for other classes. Although from the post I've just answered further up maybe it should be
Seems a bit odd to ask for proof not done for other classes. But other class wins etc can be verified on the internet -GC can't.
When you enter at Crufts the ask where you got your good citizens and when and also state you must have it with you in case you have to produce it never had to yet but the first time you don't take it will be the time they ask for it, I carry them to all shows where they are entered in that class my thoughts are better safe than sorry. My first few just say pet name later ones after classes are at Crufts I made sure proper names are stated and I have shown in the good citizens class at crufts since the beginning winning the it the first time class was scheduled

The thing is, usually only pet names are put on the G.C. certificates and there must be hundreds of Daisies and Alfies who have passed!

It can only really based on trust. I have my dogs kennel names added to mine, but they could in effect be any dog couldn't they. Only way would be to make sure all dogs are microchipped and the chip number added to the certificate..
