Any sewing whizzes out there? I want to make a tablecloth/flag for our show society. Hoping to put a picture of dog and name of club on it. Any suggestions how to go about 1) black lettering and 2) dogs head?

fabric paint and stencil ? do you have a hobby craft near you ?

Thanks for the reply. There is a hobbycraft. Is is difficult to do, can colours bleed/run. I was wondering about trying to get fabric letters to stick/iron/sew on

I have only done it with the kids at school and fabric paints seem pretty good . Have a look around ebay to for letters etc but not sure how you would do the dog with fabric unless you can find a pattern. I would also google what you want to do and see If there is any advice.
We must have some practical people around here that can come up with ideas

loads of listings for it, apparently Sainsbury & Tesco sell it, I had some that was a big piece not tape but most sewing shops should have a choice. If you cut out fabric letters etc and use this to stick them you can stitch round them a lot easier.
Main thing with fabric paint is keeping the fabric pulled tight and getting the spacing right as you only get one chance, been there- done the flag!!

I would trace a paper pattern of the shape of the dog then pin onto fabric, cut round, probably fasten on to background with wonder web (other makes are available!) then stitch round outline if needed. Same with letters. Happy sewing. I think it would look better than painted (just my opinion).
