Has anyone had to worm early? Pups are 10days 3 have hard tums mum most be cleaning i cant make them poo they scream when i try to do it some pass poo some dont they scream after being fed this litter are a nightmare :( i think they have trapped wind or its too hot after or they need worming? But the last about worming wouldnt make them cry ... mum not stay with them even wen its cold thats why iv made it abit warmer...im not enjoying this litter at all :(
Sorry I can't help with this but hope things improve for you soon as I know what a worry it is when you have a problem with tiny puppies. I think the wormer is licenced from 2 weeks. Did you say the vet had seen them?

I wormed at 2 weeks which I believe is the norm.
My girl was not keen to stay a long time with her second litter, she would go in feed, quick wash and then bugger off and pups would squeak for comfort, the snuggle pads were very useful at this point, totally different to how she was with her first litter. It was a full summer litter mind so cold was not such an issue.
I decided she was not doing enough and that her desire to be with me and downstairs had to be halted.
She was still upstairs and I was still sleeping with them all at night, so during the day I put a ban on her coming downstairs for more than a few toilet breaks and I stayed upstairs with her.
It was actually only really tiring for about a week because at 3 weeks solids started to be introduced and you might find that this helps your little tiny tummies.
I wish you well, it does get easier, honest!!

Gripe water and burping the pups after feeds might help. If she is being perfunctory over cleaning then they may have painful wind, or if too warm be constipated. for constipation a little liquid paraffin can be used, as advised by the vet.

I always wormed at 2 weeks, using a gentle worming syrup (at the same time worming mum ) and then every 2 weeks to the time they went home.
I had one litter where mum totally refused to pooh her brood - peeing, fine, poohing - totally beneath her. Nightmare. I had to sit them in bowls of warm water to help ease the situation.
Would this constipation have anything to do with being wormy? In any case I don't think I'd risk worming at under 2 weeks of age.
Ther pooing now but so full of wind poor babies some do burp but it dont help they cry till they fall asleep ...il worm from 2weeks its only 3days away when does colic stop? Im thinking once ther on the move? X

I meant you should burp them, rubbing their bellies gently. I often find mine do it themselves (I assume that is what they re doing) when they do the seal slide around the box after nursing.
"The seal side".....thats a great way of putting it yes they do that with most of the feeds some burp some dont iv weighed them today and ther 26oz these pups were around 8oz- at birth only 12days old x

I think they are more likely to 'botty burp', but burp sounds more polite. ;)
If they are very plump with Mum having lashings of milk then I am not surprised they a re a bit uncomfortable greedy things.
