Sadly not, would be good if they did. Awful practices going on out there.
If insured this can or should bind them into some form of procedure to follow like not being able to walk more than 6 dogs at a time, however I know plenty with insurance who breach this too.
Id love to know how they cope to be honest! How do they know the dogs will all get on,and not act like a pack, terrorizing others?or even recall? My daughter has met one on her walk, with about 6 varying breeds, and they all just walked past hers calmly, off lead too!respect!

I'm a dog boarder rather than a dog walker but I regularly walk 5 or 6 dogs at a time, on & off lead. The art of it is only taking dogs you know you can handle & dogs that are reasonably well behaved otherwise its a nightmare. I know as I own my very own little nightmare of a mini daxie who doesn't come out on group walks as he barks & lunges at other dogs. I've never known them to act like a pack. They all do their own thing whilst sticking together in a very loose group.

Insurance more like.
Working with other peoples property will leave you open to legal action if anything untoward happens.

I would say that the opportunity to behave like a pack with 6 - 7 dogs walked regularly together is a possibility. Dogs regularly walked as a group will have some allegiance to one another and if one got into what the others perceived as a danger they could well group together to fend off the attack. If they are all your dogs then you may have enough control to stop it but if some belong to others maybe not. There is a woman near me who walks anything up to 10 dogs together, granted over half are small dogs but there is a greyhound, GSD and a Goldie, also a lurcher type (quite big) The others are yorkie/chi/shitz types. Sometimes she has 2 collies, the mix changes day by day. On the whole they are a friendly bunch but I dread to think what may happen if one got into difficulties and was picked on either by a strange dog or one of the others. They all go off lead. She seems to think bellowing at them is all the training they need !! I also notice that though she is quite good at picking up behind them sometimes if 3 - 4 go together she misses one ! I have myself in the past walked up to 6 GSD's together, however I walked quiet beaches and leashed dogs if we saw others coming... they may have been friendly but the sight of so many GSD's approaching is enough to frighten anyone !! We also walked the golf course and collected golf balls for a pastime ! I always took a carrier bag and left them on the clubhouse steps !!
I think a licence for commercial dog walkers should be compulsory and only obtainable if some evidence of canine understanding is shown and insurances produced.

Well, I can only say in 12 years of walking multiple dogs, I have never had any problems & I am always very careful what dogs I walk & where I take them.
There are a number of dog walking agencies exercising dogs where I walk mine. They walk several dogs at a time ,all shapes and sizes. They are never a problem and I am always amazed by how well behaved the dogs are. The girls/ladies pick up after the dogs and invariably courteous and good humoured.

I'm a dog walker and the company I work for had carved out a bit of a niche (entirely by accident) of taking on dogs other dog walkers won't spend the time with. On our books we have various dogs that have been unable to walk in groups that have come to us and after some careful introductions have found another dog they can walk with as a two, or as a three if there are two members I staff.
We take no more than three dogs each (and that is a rarity, these three are exceptionally well trained and socialised) and any introductions are done over a number of weeks.
Of the previously 'unwalkable' dogs. I can only think of one case that has solo walks and this is a very nervous ex-puppy farm dog that has a history of biting so is walked on his own with a muzzle away from people and dogs. The rest we have found good matches for that they can walk with and they have compatible temperaments.
More recently we've had loads more 'non-problem' dogs compared to what we used to attract and so these go to the less experienced staff members.
thats brilliant,im glad you can do it. I expect Im thinking of my own 3 dogs, one will nip if faced down, one just barks and one is scared of everything, youre very brave!or maybe im just a chicken!
I just wish I was as brave! My life with my three would be much easier!
Thats it though, springfever, you take care, and are responsible.
thats great, jan,it just amazes me that people are so brave, mind you,i used to walk 5,3 collies,a gsd or 2(depending)and a jack russell,of my own,and I found that scary sometimes, maybe im just a wimp!
thats great, josh,I can see a great future in dogs for you.I only wish I had the presence/character to be like you!I love my three and am determined to give them the best life i can.,but sometimes my wussy nature spoils things. But ,well done,we need more peeps like you!
