Try feeding him a totally bland diet like plain boiled rice and see if that helps. You could add some boiled chicken if you wanted but I tend to feed just the rice!
If it is persistent and has carried on for a few days then I would take him to the vet and get him checked out. I guess I would let him go about four or five days before taking him providing his temperature was normal and he seemed ok in himself in every other way.
Hope he gets better soon :)

hi cheryl,
one of the most common reasons in sibes for diarrohea is over feeding. what are you feeding and how much? sibes need suprinsingly little food for their size. my oldest pup had problems when he was younger and the only way to get it under control was to cut his food right back, according to the kibble he was on i was grossly underfeeding him, but he could only handle a small amount of food otherwise it went straight through him. by the way this did not affect his growth as at almost 18 months he is huge, a good few inches taller than he should be and weighs over 25kg. i would try as suggested a very bland diet of chicken and rice to calm his tummy down and make sure he drinks plenty of fluids. if it does not clear up soon though i would get him to a vet.

hi could you tell me (if you know) can a dog be fed on boiled rice and chicken all the time,I know this is used as a bland diet to aid recovery but in my dogs case this is the only time when she dosnt have the runs,if I added some vitamins and minerals would it be safe and enough for her to stay on it as long as she eats it and keeps condition....just thought you may know,I am going round in circles with my dog (gsd 2 yrs old)she to is on antibiotics all the time,as soon as the course is finished it flares up again,I am waiting for blood results and have taken in a sample, this is my first night on this site and I am hooked,I have read some very interesting stories and now dont feel so alone with my dogs problem, cheers kazco100

With a balanced witamin mineral supplement I am sure she could, lets face it many of the commercial diets are Chicken and rice.
