Topic Dog Boards / Breeding / Whats the relationship?

This is just because I have been asked this question quite a few times and cannot work it out, wondered if anyone could shed light on it. Just interested really, its not for future breeding plans.

My first litter had my girl as a dam and 'MB' as a sire = 8 pups.
My second litter had my girl as a dam but 'MB's' son as a sire = 6 pups.

What is the relationship between a pup from one litter and the other?  Half-siblings? uncle/nephew?

I did think half-siblings but then its not a completely different Dad, the second litter is sired by the son of the sire of the first litter.

BTW both sires were carefully considered, the first litter was sired by the father, however his son is actually more successful but was out of the country competing at that time.

both:

Maternal half siblings and Paternal Uncles/aunts - Nephew/nieces

Agree, and I would always say both as it is a bloodline. :-)

My youngest two are similar the sire of the younger is the paternal half brother to the elder, and their mothers are maternal half sisters.

So the oldest is AUNTY/COUSIN to the younger.
