Ok, I hope I make sense here! I have been looking on the OFA and comparing their scoring to ours. My bitch has a hip score of 6/6 so would she be good or fair? I am unsure if the comparison to the BVA scoring uses the score of a single hip or the combined score. So if it is combined she would be fair (bva range 11-18) but if it is a single hip she would be classed as good (bva range 5-10) What got me thinking that maybe it was based on each individual hip rather than combined was seeing some hip scores from the FCI countries and they were A-A or A-B or B-C and so on.

Does that make sense!!

I'm pretty certain anywhere else but here only uses a combined score -including the FCI. I must admit I have never seen A-A etc -I have two continental imports (one from Belgium, one from Holland) and both their official pedigrees are full of ONLY one single A or B. (Well the Dutch KC one states just the letter, the Belgian Saint Hubert one says for instance HD/A.)

Funnily enough just spotted an advert from abroad mentioning A:A -wonder if it varies according to country?

I have seen litters advertised in France where A-B or A-A etc. is mentioned, referring to the scores of the two parents.
