Could you please tell me how to go about getting the following tests done where is the best place to get them done, or best website to send swabs/DNA, I am in North Devon is it only the eye test that needs to be done annually, could anyone give me prices to expect to pay for hip and eye tests? have been quoted quite a range!

Your breed club is the best place to advise as different tests are done by different places.

Any vet can do the x-ray plates for hip scoring, (which are then sent off to the BVA panel for scoring, the main cost is your vets charge) the BVA website has a list of eye panellists for the eye test and also lists group clinics where it is cheaper than getting it done by appointment at the specialist vet alone.

Chris Warren at Westmoor Vets in Tavistock will do your eye test. Cost is around £50.

Hips/elbows the drive to Southern Canine Imaging (Marylin) in Southampton is worth every penny, though I can't remember the cost off the top of my head it is very reasonable and the service is superb.

We have just paid around £150 for hips & elbows and just over £100 BVA fee.  Can't remember what we paid last time, but think it was over £100 more than this, again done under sedation.  Marilyn's clinic comes highly recommended.
