I want a basket muzzle for my smallish lab that I can post treats through, I seem to remember someone recommending one on here before but I can't remember what it was called! The standard baskerville muzzles are difficult to treat through. Any advice?

I use a wire greyhound muzzle. They are lightweight and easy to get treats through.

but it does depend of the size of your dog as obviously they are designed for a dog with a fine head. They are quite roomy and fitted my lab cross quite well.

It depends on what reason you want the muzzle for.  I looked at the Baskerville ultra for one of my labs (who is a terrible scavenger) but was told it would not stop them eating through it in the way the standard Baskerville does.

She is nervous/aggressive and I want something so I can relax a bit more if I take her where we are likely to meet other dogs (which I need to do to work on her problems) I will feel a bit easier if another dog does approach her and hopefully it will also serve as a visual warning to other owners.

In that case yes, I'd second the recommendation for the Baskerville ultra. It looked good and very comfortable when I looked - unfortunately, didn't do the job I wanted it for so got the standard Baskerville instead.

I have found a chart with the detailed measurements of the muzzle and I've measured my dog but I'm unsure how much bigger the muzzle needs to be than her IYSWIM. 20% maybe?  She's got quite a dainty head for a lad and I don't want to go too big and have it rub into her eyes.

her A- is 26cm (base of muzzle)
B- 21 (end of)
C-7.5cm (stop to tip of nose)

I would say go for the 4. The 4 would be fine for my golden retriever bitch, the 5 is MUCH bigger, would even be too big on my munsterlander I reckon. Can you head to a pet shop to try them out?

yes the yellow dog/space dog things  are good to explain to humans why your dog doesn't want to be approached

Thanks, I'll give it a go and hope! I don't think there are any pet shops nearby that will stock them, plus it will be ages before I can get out in opening hours to see.
RE the yellow dog scheme, I am aware of it thank you.  I do agility and people are starting to use it there, I'm a bit doubtful as to how effective it will be with the GP but I suppose it's worth a shot. I used to use yellow dog vest for visibility on the roads, everyone I met always asked if she was a guide dog?! so I'm not sure yellow was the best colour they could have chosen :-)
