hi y'all, I was sat in the vets waiting room the other day and a lady walked in with two beautiful bulldogs, both bitches. we started chatting about the dogs as I love bulldogs so was very interested in the girls. I noticed that one of them had cherry eye in one eye and presumed she was there about the eye. after chatting away she mentioned that she was there to have pre mate tests done on both bitches which did take me by surprise as I was lead to believe that you shouldn't breed from dogs that have or have had cherry eye so I said this to her and her reply was. noooo it's fine it's an old wives tale that it's hureditry some breeds are just more prone to it than others. she went on to say she has bread from them before and there pups have never gone on to develope cherry eye and even if they did it's just a simple op to remove it, she went on to say she has 9 other bitches at home and both the bitches she had with her will be mated to this years best of breed at crufts, so I wished her good look and off I went as it was my turn. so I suppose my question is should she be breeding from dogs that have had cherry eye or not coz I'm a bit confused xx

With that many, she must be registered with the Council as a licensed Dog Breeder.
Or not.
There are ways to check.
