I wonder if anyone can help me, I am moving to Backwell, near Bristol airport so will be looking for a new vets and wondered if anyone had any recommendations in this area. I am willing to drive up to about 15 miles for a decent vet. My last practice was a small veterinary hospital owned and run by just two partners with other regular vets who offered their own 24 hour care and I am looking for a similar service. Any advice or help gratefully received. Thanks Jo
Golden Valley Vets in Nailsea are excellent. They run a 24 hour hospital - staffed with their own vets - in which they certainly saved the life of one of my dogs.
I use their small office in Clevedon for run of the mill stuff and drive to Nailsea for emergencies and out of hours cover.
I rate their vet staff, as would my dogs, and I have good continuity of care so I expect they look after their staff very well too.
If you have any specific questions I'm happy to answer if I can
Thank you, this sounds like what I'm looking for. Can I ask is there any particular vet you like seeing there? And I don't know if you breed at all but are there any vets who are good with pregnancy and whelping? Thanks
I'm not sure about surnames but I've seen Sarah and Michelle for years and both are excellent.
A friend has recently had a litter and had reason to visit Golden Valley Vets with her bitch and puppies - out of hours. I was with her on a few occasions and thought the vets were very good with her. My friend has an excellent mentor though and I think it helped that she was perceived by the vets as competent and knowledgeable.
