Well our heads are not hanging in shame as I thought they would be. Rosie got 3rd in MPB, Floyd got 2nd in Open Dog and Jasmine got 1st in Open Bitch and went on to get Reserve Best Bitch. So I got the 3 of them qualified in one go, which to be honest was all I went for really. Rosie freaked as I thought she would, but she calmed down before she went in and she showed her heart out bless her, running really well. I think she just needs time to mature.
I also fell head over heels for Julie's Taiko. He is a lovely dog. He also qualified for Crufts by coming 3rd in his class and considering it was his and Julie's very first show they both did brilliantly.

Oh well done to you , Rosie posie , Floyd and Jasmine , congrats ALL round :D :D :D
Many , many congrats to Julie and Taiko , I know how nervous she was and they have done everyone proud :D
:) :)

I am chuffed to bits and Taiko seems alot maturer somehow today:D. It was a relief to see him alongside the windberg family. Walking Taiko with big uncle Murphy had me half thinking Taiko might be a dwarf, so it was a big relief to see he has actually grown correctly :D Jayne always stressed to avoid confronting aggressive dogs when Taiko was young, which I have and his friendly behaviour was a credit to Jaynes advice. Taiko had no experience of the grouchy mal grumbles toward other dogs you could imagine him thinking "well really! How rude!" but he took it all in his stride. I am hoping though, in future perhaps the leggy blonde responsible for bringing him into the world, will do the handling :)
It occured to me I bolted out of the ring without shaking anyones hands, although I did thank the judge, so if anyone knows Sue Ellis pass on apologies I didn't mean to appear rude.I was just so so nervous!
Julie :)

I doubt if Sue would be worried, she's so experienced at it all :) We went through puppy classes with her "Blue". Stunning dog, never beat him.
If Taiko is anything like Kai, he'll be fine with other dogs until about 14 months. At that point they change for the worse I'm afraid :( Kai is 19 months and is the softest thing I know until I get to a show, then he embarrasses me by talking and growling at everything :( I'm going to get a T'shirt saying "he's lovely and sweet really" :) His elder brother apparently grew out of it after his second birthday - roll on June! :D We'll be the VERY loud bench at Crufts :D
Joan :)

By the way, do any of you know whether mals are benched on a standard size bench? I want to buy a bench guard to try and settle Kai, but they say that it needs to be standard size.

I did see some on one of the trade stands, so you could get lucky and pick one up at a show. The mals were benched in the same 'stalls' as everyone else at Manchester. I'd assume thats the standard but being the novice don't take my word for it ! :D
