Hi, I was wondering if this might help my Lab.
The hall I take her for training classes has a very slippery floor. For ring-craft they put mats down, but for obedience they do not. (different people running it, different night .)
Juno doesn't seem to have much trouble when moving, but when we are lined up with our dogs in a sit, she is uncomfortable. Her front paws are constantly sliding forward and she is forever bringing her paws back in. Eventually she gives up, lets her paws slide all the way forward and lies down, (she's great at downs lol! ) but then I get told to get my dog to sit up!
Would paw wax help? Can someone point me in the right direction to buy some if they recommend it.
Thanksyou nicely, Sharon and Ju. :)

Can anyone help?
:)

Someone with a rottie at the class I used to take my springer to had the same problem as your lab and used paw wax with some success. I seem to remember seeing it in the big pet stores like Pets at Home - usually in a 'shoe polish' type tin. Hope this helps!

This is interesting :) My pup has a problem sitting on the floor at training. We have mats around the outside, but none in the middle. She is excused doing sit stays in the middle as she just collapses in a heap - she is fine on the mat. Several dogs refuse to walk at all on the centre of the floor. It does seem a particular problem with puppies and bigger dogs (GSDs and Labs - my older dog at 18kg has little difficulty). No-one has mentioned the wax at classes, so I think that I will give it a try - may help a lot of others there :) :)
Thanks for the tip.

Thanks for replying, I will get hubby to look in one of the pet superstores on his way home from work. (We don't live near one.) If it worked for a Rottie, then I am hopeful it will work for my Ju.
