I have seen this dog breed , maybe 5 times in my life. I cannot figure out the type of breed it is. I believe it is a full breed. It is a VERY large dog. Similliar to a great dane in size. It has medium length, shaggy, seprated curls. Not as tight as a poodle. Not as long and straight as a long haired-shepard. Very shaggy, wavy, maybe 3 inch fur. I think they come in blonde, and gray and maybe more. They seem very smart, stubborn, but personable. The have very large heads, a bit rectangular.
Can anyone help?

My first thought was a pyrenean mountain dog, (which belive it or not has been described to me that way before), but then I thought, why don't you go to Crufts and visit the "Discover Dogs" section. There you will find pretty much all the recognised breeds. You should then be able to see the dog you are interested in and be able to speak to people who own this breed. The breeders and owners will be able to give you advice about caring for such a large dog, and you can make up your mind whether you really want to live with one or not.
Crufts is held at the NEC Birmingham, 6th - 9th March.
