Goldmail and Merlot- Oh I so agree with what you both say. Yes, to put a healthy dog to sleep is heartbreaking, but so much better than spending its life in "jail" or being passed from home to home. Why governments don't do something about the dog situation in this country baffles me.

Just watching the programme now utterly terrible :-(

The law has to change a well as the dog wardens remit as she hadn't got a clue.

I wonder what the next episode, part two will give us as hope it will highlight this problem to make some serious consideration of changes to the law.

Unfortunately the upcoming changes to the law put even more power into the hands of local councils (and thereby, their employees such as Dog Wardens).

And in that statement is the clue to what programmes such as this are really about :) But, be careful what you wish for. Remember the Dangerous Dogs Act. The Government were 'trusted' to sort that 'mess' out and look at the legislation they came up with....
