Hi

The American Cocker is still a gundog and does "work" but looks significanlty different to the English Cocker. The "yank" has a shorter head with a slightly squashed looking muzzle that goes to a very distinct stop then rises to the head. There eyes tend to look bigger in proportion to their face than the English because of the shape and size of their head. They are a little bit smaller but have masses more coat. Their coat is very profuse and you will have seen pictures before I'm fairly sure of these spaniel looking dogs that look like they have a very full and long coat that flares out to the floor. That's the American Cocker. The links below show some web-site with pictures of the two breeds. Go into the search engines and type in Cocker Spaniels and you'll get a range of sites both English and American. hth
