we are on day 56 and her temp is normally 37.7, this morning it was 37.6, then a few hours later 37.5, then went upto 37.8 but back down to 37.5 now, shes quite restless... still off her food, and today shes wandering around the house sniffing everything, although i was pretty sure she had picked out her den so i put the box there ready but shes not going upstairs to it. are we getting close? or just an off day?

Obviously it goes without saying, but I would stay with her now, she will probably keep you guessing!

My bitches temperature dropped below 37 the day before she whelped, so possibly her temperature hasn't dropped enough yet.

Tbh mine didn't use her whelping crate to actually whelp in, but was happy to go in there straight after with her pups.

The temp doesn't seem low enough. About the whelping box though, when mine get close I stay by the whelping box all the time as I find the bitch does not want to leave me so I need to be where I want her to give birth.

how low will it need to go? its my first time with the temperature checking, i have been told by my vet 37.2 but by other breeders 36.6. and also she is constantly where i am the last few days so when the time does come i will sit right beside the box :)
