Topic Dog Boards / General / Therapy Dogs in Northern Ireland?

Hi there!

I live in NI, and I was wondering, does anyone know of therapy dogs in NI? As in helping children to overcome reading issues? Visiting the sick or the elderly?

I am sure they exist in various other areas of the UK and I was just hoping to get some information on them? I cant seem to find anything beyond guide dogs in Northern Ireland.
I believe theyre a great asset to a community and I would love to know how to set something up! Or even just to learn more about them!

Thanks!

Im not sure about therapy dogs in general, but the PAWS group (under Dogs for the Disabled) run workshops there for families with autistic children considering having a pet dog in their family to help children with problems

We are just in the process of (hopefully) having an article written for Champdogs Blog on this particular subject, but in the mean time try:

I'm incredibly interested in learning more about it!
I'll read this article and look forward to the release if the new one!
