Can you use your Kennel name at the start of a dogs name if it's a rescue being registered on the activity register for the first time? (For example Borubears ****) I didn't think you could I though it had to be at the end but someone I know seems to have had their name at the front of the rescue dog that they have just registered.

Thanks in advance :)

I'd check with the KC about this - I thought only the owner of a registered affix could use it at the front of the name and if it was necessary to add it to a buy-in puppy, it would be at the end after 'with', 'to', 'for', 'by' and so on.

The Activity Register wasn't around when I was 'active' LOL.   So it may well be possible to use a registered affix first.

For pedigree dogs, you can only add to the front of a bought in puppy only if you bred both parents. I would presume this wouldnt occur with rescue dogs??

Are you sure the word is their kennel name and not just a word? And could they have registered the dog first and then applied for the kennel name? I knew someone who registered their rescue dog Mxxxxx Amber, then decided they liked the word Mxxxxx so much they applied to have it as a kennel name and it was granted

Hi,  no they definitely breed under this name and KC register pups with it but the dog they rescued now has a registered name with the kennel name at the start. was just curious
