Hoping that this will upload, I found this article extremely interesting ..... yes, it's Golden Retrievers but lots to think about when it comes to neutering before a year old here!!    And especially in terms of Hip Dysplasia.    If early neutering increases the risk of this, why test/use low scoring parents?

I remember being at a seminar and being told that the experts thought that the predisposition for hip dysplasia was inherited, but whether it developed, he believed, was down to nutrition and the environment that the dog and puppy in particular was kept.

I'd have to agree - it goes along with my feeling about this - yes using low-scoring parents, but yes, rearing sensibly.
