How can I get my dogs teeth really white unfortunately I cannot give one of them bones to chew. I have used Petzlife which has helped and also they have rawhide chews is there anything else I could use or give.

I brush mine with dog tooth paste and a soft human tooth brush. But she did get a yellow patch and I got some fell stuff from Tesco, can't rember the name I'll have to find it. But you but some on top and lower tooth on both sides and its ment to lighten them after a month. I've not used it as often as your ment to but I think it has made a diffrence.

Dentisept tooth gel is one to consider. Does a pretty good job and you just need to apply to the teeth without brushing them.

Will take a look at that.

Hooves are pretty good for cleaning teeth, if they could have those.

These work for the Chihuahuas, but I hate the kisses afterwards.  :-(

I use hooves and Dentasure gel (having tried Petzlife withot much effect)--I won't give my dogs rawhide chews.

I will take a look at the dentasure. Unfortunately cannot have anything to hard.

Where can I get it.

peppe, I'm not sure there is a UK supplier as such. I get it shipped to my family's address in the US and my brother brings it over for me, which works out quite a bit cheaper--the postage is as expensive as the product otherwise. I got a bulk order last month and have a bottle or two spare, so if you'd like to try some pm me.

I tried Petzlife gel (after trying Fragaria and other "remedies") years ago when it first came out on an oldie now long gone and was not impressed. However, 2 weeks ago I bought the Petzlife spray, used it twice daily on two of our oldies whose teeth were pretty bad, the effect is amazing!! the plaque is just dropping off. The younger ones chew on Nylabones and have lovely white teeth.

What about the antlers? I softened my dogs in cool water for a day before he got them and he loves his antlers.  I would buy a tooth descaler.  I bought one for my old dog years ago and everytime she got groomed, I picked the tartare off her teeth too.  She was so used to it and I think she did like the feeling afterwards.
Also, Chicken wing tips are quite a thin, soft bone.  Could she not handle that for a chewy?

Cracar, could I ask, when you have softened the antler in water, does it remain softened or does it harden up again as it dries out? Would you then have to re soak each time? My pup enjoys a gnaw on an antler, but seems to get a bit bored with them, whereas something softer would keep her interest longer.

How would antlers soften as they are made of bone.

Try Logic (like a toothpaste) and plaque-off (a supplement you put in their food)
- By JeanSW Date 28.02.14 23:31 UTC
I tried plaque-off on 2 of my Bearded Collies.  What a waste of money that was!  :-(

Jodi try fallow deer antlers they are softer. I tried soaking the other ones but it made no difference and cant say mine are bothered about them anyway

Thanks, furriefriends.
Strangely I had recently bought  flat piece of antler which I presume came from a fallow and I had noticed she was making more of an impression on those. She doesn't seem to be a chewy dog unless it's a nice raw bone. :-)

sounds like a fallow deer antler :)
