hallo, are there any anti mite shampoos ,do you know, please? My daughters dog has just been diagnosed with mites(very itchy, bald in places)and has been given medication, and daughter has been told to give him a long hibiscrub bath, but I wondered if that was for any infection the mites or scratching might have caused.my problem is,my dog who stayed with angie for a week in september, has been scratching quite a lot since then,i have treated her for fleas, although I couldnt see any,but she still scratches despite her skin looking clear, now Im wondering if shes got mites. Would the hibiscrub help,do you think? thanks!

Hibiscrub is basically just antiseptic wash, it is what surgeons use in hospitals to wash their hands with. It won't kill any mites. In fact I don't believe any shampoo these days will as those that did were eventually banned. I could be wrong, there could be something left. For mites though, Advocate spot on from the vet. I had an itchy dog last year and couldn't work out why so spoke to my vet and we decided to try Advocate. Whether it was mites or not I don't know but it seemed to clear up, and reading the box it does take an awful lot more than your average flea treatment. It is however prescription only and cannot be bought online without a prescription so it is a must to see the vet.

Thanks Marrianne,I think we will go to the vets. Shes not marked her skin or anything, but the itching must be annoying for her. Thankyou!
