Hi. I've been searching the internet to find the ingredients in "Hill's Science Plan" for puppies but can't find any info. I wonder if there are any of you that can send a link? Also any experiences with this so called (by vets!) excellent food! My reason for this is that in the middle of March I shall have a puppy the breeder of whom already feeds them either "Hills" ...Thanks in advance.

You could check out   www.whichdogfood.co.uk  they have reviews on dozens of foods. Hills comes out badly I'm afraid.

I've seen plenty of animals live solely on Hills for many years without health problems, so it's certainly one of the better 'middle-of-the-road' foods. As with any food, it doesn't suit all individuals.

Many thanks Dawn...that appears to be an excellent site...gives me "food for thought" so to speak! regards Liz.

One of mine I bought had been fed on this so I bought some rather than change his food as soon as he arrived. It stinks! And I was most unimpressed by list of ingredients.  Quickly changed him over to Simpsons Sensitive (no cereal) and was more than happy with that. I've subsequently changed to raw but keep some of the Simpsons 80/20 in the house for just in case (80% meat, 20% veg and fruit)

It's price certainly doesn't reflect this, though - there are far better foods available at much lower prices.

that is my thought, similar with Royal Canin the mid range quality of the ingredients has a high price tag.

There are cheaper foods using similar ingredient profiles, and foods with higher quality ingredients for that sort of price.

Agree, price of RC ridiculous and I won't even feed it to mine - I win a fair bit, but all gets sold on or given away LOL. To be fair, if I had more dogs, I'd be happy enough to mix it in, but with only three a sack would take me an age to do that.

Yes I can get away with it mixed in at 25% any more and they have sticky yellow poos.

Hi again..thanks all for your input..I think I shall keep the pup on the breeders food..(hills) for a while and then gradually change to something with better ingredients...the www.whichdogfood.co.uk is a great reference. I was originally thinking of changing her to barf diet but don't think I can stomach the look of a puppy cracking up bones and chicken feet! Lol....
