I have a 14 year old entire male. A few months ago he started dripping bloody fluid from his pen1s. I took him to the vet who checked his prostrate and a few other things, said everything was fine and she couldn't see anything wrong anywhere. She gave him antibiotics just in case he had an infection.  The bleeding stopped after a couple of weeks. My boy seems fine in himself.

I have just noticed it happening again. I am planning to take him back to the vets but just wondered if anyone had any ideas as the vet didn't seem to know what was causing it. The only other thing is he did this last time my bitches were in season and they are in season again now. Could this be related to the girls seasons? he might be 14 but he still knows what is going on with the girls and would like to "play" with them!

I would get his urine checked for crystals.

This happened to my boy when he had the hormone implant I spoke to the company who made it they said it was a spike in his hormones..it wore of after time had him checked at the vets also they didn't know either!

the vet has given him ABs again but still doesn't seem to have a clue. If I can get a sample they will test his urine.

Atleast it's easy to get a wee sample from a male; simply get a clean, well rinsed, dry jar, have the dog on a lead and when he cocks his leg, you can catch he stream! :-)
