Hi everyone,my labs have fleas used frontline on them and its not worked,I am told that animals have become immuned to this treatment,my vet told a friend of mine that he now uses the combined tablet and wormer, does this work.
There's a lot of anecdotal evidence that Frontline is far less effective than it used to be, and that fleas are developing immunity to it. However there are many other flea products on the market; I don't know which one your vet suggests but mine recommends Stronghold.
I have recently had the same problem with Frontline (for my cat) and my Vet recommended 'Advantage Spot On' instead. I am relieved to say it did the trick with the Cat and my dogs and was cheaper than Frontline to boot! Don't forget you may need to treat your house too.
I had the same problem in 2012. Fipronil is the ingredient in frontline and other treatments with that ingredients are also losing effectiveness (Effipro is one). I used Advantage too and it sorted the problem out.
Rang my vet,not able to treat for another few weeks as frontline had been adminstered very recently, giving everywere a good hoover twice a day and washing daily.
