>Jessica should drop her French affectation when it comes to how she pronounces the PBGV/GBGV. Vendeen has always been good enough, not Vendeon (French nasel sound).
> After all, I am used to hearing "The judging of Belgian Shepherd Dog MALLI-NOY will take place in ring x in 5 minutes time
I don't think there are an awful lot of people that can pronounce ALL foreign breed names correctly. After all, I am used to hearing "The judging of Belgian Shepherd Dog MALLI-NOY will take place in ring x in 5 minutes time" over the tannoys at a LOT of championship shows.
>Small wonder nurses etc. don't watch Casualty or Holby - if we can pick upon all this with dogs, goodness knows how much misinformation there is on shows like those.
>Fact is pronouncing the Grif as a Vendeon, in the UK, is an affectation. And unnecessary - if only it were to be educating the general public!!!
> Is it an affectation to say 'Beeshon Freezay'?
> More polite to try than not bother. :-) .
>nothing worse than excruciatingly bad French
