Has anyone else noticed an increase in pugs in adverts,3 at the moment to my knowledge :(
I hope this doesn't bring and increase in people wanting pugs because 'they saw one on the tv' :(

That ship has sailed long since, a few years now.  How long ago was Men In Black Two?

And all the crosses too!

Also Little Willie in EE was years ago.

Did Pugs ever get more popular after Willy? I can't remember them as being popular at all then. But talking about that, this week in EE, Lady Di the Bulldog to be mated because that can make them lots of money. Isn't it funny how short a memory the BBC has as it's NOT that long ago they said they cud not POSSIBLY show Crufts on TV unless the KC agreed to ban certain breeds from the show as the TV viewing public should not be allowed to see those breeds as they were SO unhealthy. And now they are breeding from one in EastEnders? (Although it does end up being crossbred pups by accident -I am hoping it will end up being a caesarian and nobody wanting the pups but knowing the BBC they will be designer crosses born easily and selling like hotcakes.)

It sickened me to watch that episode.  I couldn't believe it when the son said "how many litters can they have in a year?"  He thought they would be rich overnight.  Thanks BBC, nice one.

Might they actually be highlighting an ethical issue for once?
Many people have complained - while the  answers from the BBC seem rather weak, they have said that Bulldog breeding is coming up later in the storyline...

As to giving people "ideas" about breeding their dogs for profit, then that episode will probably reach the 0.01% who haven't already thought of it yet...

I also wondered if they were going to go down the 'unethical to breed for profit' route/storyline ???.

I certainly hope they say SOMETHING about the "how many litters in a year" remark.
