Hi There
I have a young bitch who will be having a season soon and never want to breed them, leave all that to experts, I dont what to get her spayed until she is a adult, one of my males is very clever and crafty at opening doors and so on and I cant take the chance on him getting his wicked way,I was thinking about putting him in a kennel (poor soul) I have never used a kennel before what should I look for when visiting a kennel that I might use and questions to ask the owners.

Personal recommendation IMHO ;) Ask other people who have had their dog in Kennels ..and be guided by what they say :)

Agree with what Mel says - but also go with your gut reaction coz if you aint happy then you will fret anyway - no matter how good everyone else says a place is.
Where abouts are you - we may know of some places?

Hi Zimzam
Like the others say recomendation is good but I would go and visit as many as you can ,and you will know it when you find it .
Go on speck and if they ask you to come back later -then don't
the kennels i leave my dog is quite run down but the people really love the dogs and the lady showed me around in her pyjamas .
Ask about excersise and ask to see the areas - are they walked or just let out ,do they mix ( they shouldn't )what food do they feed or do you take your own .
the one i use provides whatever I specify and they also cook every day for the dogs ,so theres always something to tempt them with if they're fussy .
there is a huge range of kennels and if you find one your happy with it makes the world of difference :)

Thanks for the info I have a list of kennels fairly local, what I would like to do is visit him every day at a set time convinent to me and the kennel owners and take him on a walk but I dont know if this would confuse him or knot?.
