When I took my puppy for her puppy check, the vet. Noticed her left eye was a little bloodshot and she said that it may have been caused by her fur catching her eye.
She trimned the fur away.
It hadn't got any worse and the nurse checked her eyes on Tuesday and didn't mentioned a problem but occasionally she cries and rubs her eye just once and then she's fine
Do you think she needs to go back to the vets or is it something that needs a

bit of time to go away.
I have had dogs for the past 14 yrs and grew up with them but a puppy. is a new experience and I am trying to do my best for her

If this continues, I'd get her back and ask the vet to do a proper eye examination - running dye in there etc. to see if there is anything more profound going on.    At least if you do get that done, you can be sure her eye isn't being compromised.

I agree with MamaBas that you may need to get it checked out.  Your vet talked about the fur damaging the eye.  Can you see if, usually the bottom, but maybe the top, eyelid isn't turned in anywhere. If it is then that will make the fur or eyelashes rub the eye.  If so, it is entropian  and will  need careful monitoring and maybe an operation in due course.  I don't know if your puppy is a breed that is prone to this, hopefully it's not. On the other hand it may just be she has bumped into something or scratched her eye.

I have been bathing it every day and she seems to have stopped rubbing it and crying.
I will keep an eye on it for a few days before I go back to the vets.
I am keeping the hair trimmed away from her eyes so hopefully that is all it was.

I always keep a bottle of hypromellose eye drops handy.  They are also known as 'false tears' and are available from any chemist.  They can be used to flush out the eyes if they look irritated especially after windy weather.

Keep a close watch on the eye as this was what one of my dogs did and she turned out to have an ulcer and she needed an op. It took ages to heal
