We're on day 55 from 1st mating. My girl is restless & panting for about 10 minutes, then resting for maybe half an hour, then panting again. This has been going on since 5pm. Getting concerned as this is a breed that usually goes 63/64 days. Her last litter whelped on day 63.

and right on cue, she's started again....I'm hoping it's the pups moving down... if anyone knows what this is, I'd love to know.

My bitches very often have a "faux" labour a week before delivery. Brixton-Hicks I think it's called in humans.

I find if my girls are carrying a good size litter, they do pant the week before, they are just very uncomfortable

Thanks, she setted down around 2am & seems fine. She seems to have changed shape almost overnight, going from being very round, to slimmer, but with more underneath. Lots of self grooming going on too. Everything ready, so it's just a case of watching & waiting now. Thanks again x Etta
