Topic Dog Boards / Health / Insurance Company - 5 days to issue claim form???
- By snowflake [gb] Date 02.01.14 12:59 UTC
Having now to make a claim on my (Churchill) insurance for the sheltie,  I was rather put out to be told on telephoning them that the claim form would take about 5 days to arrive.  Surely in this day and age one could be emailed?

I had the same problem with Direct Line. They also seemed to treat them like gold dust and it was difficult to get them to send me more then a few at a time despite the fact I was claiming monthly for my dogs who were on long term meds.

I am with Axa and when I rang and got a claim form the first time, I asked for a couple and the very nice lady there suggested I colour photo-copy the first so I had some available when needed. She said as far as they were concerned a blank copy then filled in properly was quite acceptable. I still needed to inform them at the time about anything I was making a claim for but it saved them sending and me waiting.

Prehaps you could suggest they make it available to down load, so much easier for all.

I'm with animal friends and When I made a claim I'm sure I was able to download and print my own one off. As above maby worth suggesting it.

This isn't an option with Axa anymore as they have now barcoded each claim form to make it unique, so you have to get a new one each time.

However - they can email you a bunch :-)

Did you actually ask churchill if they could email?  Apologies if you did but IME companies don't offer to do it, they just say they'll mail it out but if you ask, then they can email.  Some sites have forms for download too, but not all.  And - it's worth just getting a pile of them sent out whichever way so you've got a stock of them :-)

I did of course ask Churchill if they could email but they said they were "looking into it" (the sending of claim forms that is).  I was with Direct Line for some time and had to claim on a regular basis for my westie's arthritis med - don't remember a problem.
