Bragging, I have just finished one of my christmas jobs. I have 81 mince pies sitting on a cooling rack!!!

Mmmm, well done. Sadly I've been unable to convince my Mum to make some, her pastry was outstanding. I've got a couple of dozen in the freezer of various brands and will do a taste test soon!

I should have gone up to Essex today but decided discretion was the better part of valour, weather being so foul! Hope to go up tomorrow to one of my daughters and her family,  had a request for mince pies from her, then my younger son, also in Essex, put in a bid for his family!

I made five dozen this afternoon ( didn't quite match your 81!) - so hope the weather is improved enough for my journey tomorrow- I don't think self and son who lives with me can really manage 60 mince pies! :)

My Mom made mince pies, jam tarts and lemon curd tarts (varying tastes) with her five granddaughters on Sunday and thoroughly enjoyed it all. The littlest one who is 5 who was in charge of course reminded  all her helpers as she called them (13,17, 19, 22 and 82) to put water on the jam and mincemeat to stop them burning........ 

I hate mince pies , Christmas cake or Christmas pudding !

No baking done in this house as I will put my hands up I am useless at it ! I can't follow recipes as like to improvise so that doesn't to well with proper baking techniques !!

Wow that's a lot of mince pies! I made the biscuits last night and the apple cake this morning. :-)

I made it to Essex today complete with mince pies! My biggest problem weather wise,  was the sun in my eyes driving over to the M5 and down the M5!! Was ok once I hit the M4  :)  I felt guilty moaning to myself about it when I was hearing on the radio how bad the wind and rain was up north. I hope everyone on here has got safely to their Christmas destinations.
