I  have a huge dilemma that i need help with urgently. One of my girls recently had a 14 month gap between seasons and it was only when we noticed she was flagging with my other girls and was also very swollen that she must be having a silent season. We took her to the planned stud with the plan she would get blood tested at the vets too but while she was at the studs my daughter broke her leg in 2 places and fractured her arm too so the original plan went right out the window. The stud owner kept my girl during this period and she was mated twice then she took her home to me even though its quite far away. Then 3 days after her last mating my friend came over to look after the dogs while  went to the hospital for the day, unknown to me she took both her dogs with her and one is an entire male, somthing i definately would not have agreed to and when i got home that night she admitted he had tied with my girl. She was of course full of apologies but im horrified.Of course we dont know what day she is on being a silent season,i have no experience with that but she was mated sun and tues and the accidental matiing was thursday. We took the advice of our vet and continuing with the hopeful pregnancy and dna testing the pups, the sire is getting neutered so there will be no more chances but i do want to hear from others who have had litters from a silent season and also if she was mated twice at studs 2 days apart then the accident was 2 days after that what are the chances the sire is daddy, any advice welcome.thanks

If she is pregnant then you need to have Mum and the 2 sires DNA profiled and all the puppies so you know 100% who is the father of who. It is feasible that she could be carrying pups from both sires. Speak to the kennel club if she is in pup and they will send you all the details. You cannot register any pups at all without having the litter DNA tested, it would be immoral. You are allowed to register pups from 2 different sires without problem as long as you have the DNA proof of who is who.

High chance she may have a mixed litter, some from the desired stud and some from the interloper.

Only DNA testing all the litter will prove which is which, so you will need the desired studs DNA sampling if he hasn't been profiled already.
