Hi my dog tied in the 1st October so yesterday made her 63days she has been losing her plug for about 1 1/2 weeks her temperature has been between 37.0 &37.8 the last week pups are very active pants now and then spends time in her box and still hot her appetite is this normal for a dog to go over the 63 days I know they can go to 68 days but most people I know who have had dogs n pups say their's went between 58 & 63 days .

You need to know what is normal for your breed. Some toybreeds I would not expect to go past 60 days and if they did I'd know something was wrong, and my large breed I'd not want to go over 64 but usually it's around 60 days.

You also need to know when she ovulated rather than when she was mated, that will give a more accurate due date. Did you progesterone test?

I agree with Marianne that breed matters.  My bitches mostly whelp on day 56, so if they went to day 64 I would be at the vets.

I never left mine much over day 64, counting from the first mating, but being aware that conception may not have taken place on the first mating, without having my vet take a look.   Given that mine were unfortunately not always fre-whelping, I preferred to act rather than wait.   But you would have to know your b itch, and bloodlines (free whelping?) and how the individual bitch is behaving.

I wish people would come back with outcomes.  It's so frustrating.
