Two linked queries

Where a dog is beaten in a stakes class by another dog of the same breed can it then go on to challenge for BOB (if unbeaten in the breed classes)?

If the dog is then awarded BOB can it go in the group ?

Does it make any difference if the dog is an adult or a puppy?

It can compete in the breed but not go on into the group as it is beaten, unless the class it was beaten was a special like Brace, Team, stud dog etc.
